Criteria D - Evaluating the solution
Criteria D- Evaluating the Solution
Self -evaluation against Design Specification
Design 1- Toy -friendly syringe
Design 2 - Jean straps
Design 3- Water bottle fabric case
Peer Evaluation Against Design Specification:
TASK 3:
Design 1-Friendly Syringe:
I think my toy friendly robot is a good idea but I think the toy itself can get contaminated easily from the children so the toy would be even better if there was some sort of way that the toy can get cleaned without damaging any part of it. The toy would be even better if the design would be improved because of the limit of shapes that are placed in Tinkercad.
Design 2-Pant Straps:
The Pant Straps are a very effective design if the target audience was to buy it but the design that was made from Tinkercad was a bit plain. Because the limit of geometric shapes in tinkered isn't a lot , there were not too many extra features I could have added in the design. The design itself was just regular pants(without pockets) and the jean straps. The design, however, could have been improved by adding features such as pockets to make the design look helpful.
Design 3-Water bottle fabric case:
I think that the water bottle fabric case was designed nearly exactly sketched so the improvements wouldn't be too much if there were any, The water bottle cover could be improved if the colors were changed or a number of colors to the cover were added.Friday, 25 November 2016
Criteria C- Creating the solution
- Box
- Pyramid
- Cylinder
- Sphere
Reflection:
The basic shapes I used were the boxes for the arms, legs, body and head , the pyramids for the hands ,the cylinder as the needle and the sphere as the distracting ball. The only techniques I used to make this product was grouping the shapes and ungrouping to edit the shapes again. While I was designing this product the hardest part of this design was to make every shape as accurate and symmetrical as possible so it can look like a good product.
Changes:
The changes I made from my sketch was the fact I used pyramids instead of fingers because it would be too long and complex to make. The second change I made was that I didn't place any buttons on the chest but instead a green area which would be a smarter idea for lights to distract the kids. The last change I made was the removal of the handle of syringe because the shapes weren't available to create the handle.
Design 2:
Shapes that were used:
The basic shapes I used were the Letter C to make it look like the straps around the pants, the letter U for the buckle of the belt and thin tubes for the pants itself. The techniques I mostly was used was grouping but I ungrouped if I needed to edit anything else. The most challenging thing I faced while creating this product was placing and editing the pant's straps.
Design 3:
Shapes that were used:
The basic shapes I used were cylinders for the base and cover, thin tubes for the handle and ex-tractable rubber on the top and a small box on the side of the cover to grip the handle. The techniques I used for this design was creating a hole by placing a shape in a bigger shape to create the desired hole. I also used grouping and ungrouping. The hardest part about creating this design was making sure the measurement of the top and the base of the water bottle cover was symmetrical.

Friendly Syringes
Jean straps:
Water bottle fabric case:
Design Sketches:
Toy-Friendly Syringes:
Design 1-
Reflection:
This is the first idea that went to my head when I was thinking of a toy friendly syringe so I decided to sketch from my mind. The idea itself wasn't challenging but the annotating was a bit hard. The highlight of my sketch was the main idea of hiding the syringe inside the toy. I think I annotated this sketch the best out of all my sketches because it has more than one purpose. This idea was loosely based on transformers since it was my favorite toy as a child.
Design 2-
Reflection: I sketched just using my instincts to use create a better child-friendly syringe for boys and girls. This design is for girls and wasn't really challenging because the idea itself is simple and that is to entertain kids(girls). The main idea is to hide the idea that the syringe is the body of the butterfly so kids won't cry or run away when they see the syringe. This design was one of the easiest to annotate so I think it was well annotated. This sketch was just one of the main ideas when people of think of girl toys so I decided to design this.
Jean Straps:
Design 1-
Reflection: I sketched this using the idea of the jean/pant straps and design it being used with the pants/jeans. The idea was quick to create and think of but improvising it was a bit complicated. The main idea is to show the straps being used with the pants. Even though I tried hard to annotate it well, it isn't annotated as well as my other designs. This idea came as a thought because it takes me a long time to wear my belt so I thought of a design that could be useful to me(and possibly others).
Design 2-
Design 1-
Design 2-
Reflection: This sketch was based on my previous idea except I thought of an alternate idea so I thought of this. The only challenging part of designing this was trying to create an alternate idea of my previous idea. The main idea of this design is the same, and that is to protect the water bottle from dents. I think it was very well annotated because there was very little space left on the paper when I finished my annotations. I thought of water bottle cover that was light, had a handle and soft for the people to use.

Reflection: This sketch was based on the same idea to wear belts faster but this is an alternate solution. To create the sketch wasn't too hard since I'm copying my idea. This isn't too well annotated but it isn't the least annotated of my ideas. This idea was just an inspiration of my thought.
Water bottle Fabric case:Design 1-
Reflection:I sketched this design even though it didn't look as good as I thought it would be in my head. Since I planned most of this design before actually working on the sketch this wasn't very challenging. The main idea is to protect the water bottle from dents so it is protected by soft materials. I think every detail was annotated as much as possible. I got the idea to sketch this because a few of my water bottles became dented over time and thought of a way to protect a water bottle so I thought of this.

Justification:
Design 1:
I chose to design the friendly syringe as sketch 1 as the robot because it looked more distracting for the children and looked more child-friendly especially for the boys. I came up with the idea of hiding the syringe with something child-friendly so I chose a toy robot to cover up the syringe. The software I would be using is TinkerCad. The design could be made in an hour with my skills in TinkerCad. If the design would be created it would probably cost no more than 50dh. The robot has been designed to be child-friendly so every part of it is safe. Probably the parents would acknowledge the idea straight away and think it would be a great idea to calm the children so they won't raise too much blood pressure if they were frightened of the syringe. The children would probably like to play with the robot because they won't suspect anything of it. I chose the robot to look red and grey because red is a very appealing colour to kids and grey is a colour that most robots will have on them.
Design 2:
I chose to design sketch 2 because most parts of the design have a reason to be designed. To design sketch 2 I will have to use TinkerCad. The design could be made in 45 minutes if I was to design it in TinkerCad. If the design would be created it would probably cost at least 100dh because of the materials and colours. Since there is nothing sharp or hard in this design there would probably be nothing dangerous about this design. Since the target audience is for teenagers and adults it might be very good for the target audience since people do not want to be late for their work so they can wear this design more quickly than a regular belt to pants. The colours vary from the audience's choice and the texture can be change when needed.
Design 3:
I chose to design sketch 2 because it looked more effective for the target audience. I came up with this idea because I wanted to think of a way to protect my water bottle from dents so I thought of this idea. I would use TinkerCad to design this.Since the design is only created in TinkerCad it would probably take 45 minutes to create this design. If this design was to be constructed it would probably cost 45dh. Since there aren't hard or sharp pieces on it ,it wouldn't be dangerous or harmful to the people using it. Since the target audience is children, they would think this is a handy cover for their water bottles in case they were to drop it. I chose this design texture because it is safe and soft for teh people to touch it.

Term 1
Introduction
My name is Nasser Korathe Mohammad, I am a student in grade in EISM. I have created this blog for my MYP Digital Design class which is my Folder that keeps my information for this year. I have studied MYP design only for a year and now it will be my second year. Our teacher shows us what to do when doing jobs and she helps us to be a good designer. The previous year in term 1 I was studying about the characteristics of good advertisements. In term 2 I worked with a partner to try to participate in the tech fair. In term 3 I worked in creating a storyboard and I was scratch programming, we did a few things to try out scratch then we made a story out of it (even though it's super hard). I can't wait to start learning about 3D modeling this year. My hobbies are Football, Archery and watching on my phone.MYP design makes us study about existing designs and products and annotate it. It is a bit difficult to think new and helpful designs if we don't know what the problem we are trying to solve is. I have read a few websites about the characteristics of good designers and how they solve problems.
STATEMENT OF INQUIRY- Products developed creatively using the technique of 3D Modelling to meet an individual's needs can increase their ability to function within the real world.
RELATED CONCEPT- Ergonomics
KEY CONCEPT- Development
GLOBAL CONTEXT- Personal and Cultural Expression
ATL Skills- Thinking- Creative Thinking and transfer
Research- Information Literacy

Learning the moves
In this lesson I learned how to move the objects or shapes anywhere on the workplane by clicking the object and dragging it to another area.
Camera Controls:
In this lesson I how to move around views to look at things at different angles. You do this by pressing the arrows to check different views.
Creating Holes:
In this lesson we hap to touch the shape then press shift and then hole and then group to create the hole of the shape.
Scale,copy and paste:
In this lesson we learned how to copy and paste a shape by pressing Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V and scale a shape by moving the white dots around a shape
The Problem
The UAE Nurses Association claims that one of the most difficult parts of their job is dealing with small children who have a fear of needles.Although the association has some tips and tricks like putting numbing cream to partially freeze the surface of the skin before injecting medicine, sometimes the anxiety levels of small children are so high that it is difficult to get them to hold still. If only there was an easier way to administer medicine within the syringe.
My Design Situation:
1- Usually some problems that teens to adults have is that their pants/jeans are too big fit for them and if they were to wear a belt they might be late for their class/job.
2- When students hold water bottles and bring them to class they will kind of have to use a whole hand and bring their books and other things on their other hand.
My Briefs:
1- Friendly Syringe toy:
3-Water bottle fabric case holder:
The invention is a water bottle fabric case that is supposedly covers all parts of a water bottle except the part which is used for drinking. The side of the water bottle has a handle on its side so people can carry other things easier. This is mostly aimed for students so the students can hold their books easier while they don’t have to worry about holding the water bottles. Mostly this design would be used in school because mostly the students will use inventions like this and students are usually in school. The design will look like a cylinder shape fabric so it can store water bottles in them. The side of the case will have a small little handle so people can carry it easily. The bottom of the case will be thicker than the rest of the sides so if the water bottle was to leak the water won’t go anywhere. It comes in any colors.

My Briefs:
1- Friendly Syringe toy:
A really
good solution for syringes is to make them look like toys and friendly looking
so the kids can trust the doctors and nurses and think that nothing bad will
happen to them. The friendly syringes are usually aimed at little kids or kids
who have fear of needles or sharp things. The ranges of age of the little kids
are usually 1 – 8 years old because they won’t understand that the syringes are
helpful for their health. Mostly this design would be used in hospitals but in the
kids section because the adults don’t need the syringes that look like toys
because they won’t feel the need to use it. The designs will look differently for
each gender and age. The boys will get a syringe will look like a small robot
with a syringe inside it so it is hidden. The girls will get a syringe that
looks like a butterfly and the body is the syringe. Comes in any color
2- Jean / pants
straps:
A faster
solution for people to wear their belts is to make their belts attached to the jeans
/ pants so it will look like straps attached to it to make it easier and faster
for people to go to places. This invention is mostly for teenagers and adults
because they usually have to wear good clothing when they have to go to school
or important meetings. The little kids will not really think that their looks
are really important so they will not use a belt. This design will be worn for school or for
important meetings in an adult’s job. It will feel much comfortable when
wearing in a long meeting. The design is going to include the regular pants that
have belts that look like straps attached to the pants so it will be easier to
wear. colors vary from black to brown to blue.
3-Water bottle fabric case holder:
